If you can, get a first focal plane scope, that way the reticule is correct at every magnification. The above mentioned 4-14 by Primary Arms is one of them.

Second focal plane scopes reticules tend to only correct at max power with maybe another magnification here or there in between if you can do the math.

SFP scope are more of a quick action scope for things like three gun, tactical closer combat stuff, and so on. Run it at 1X for quick acquisition and CQB shooting and run it up to max for longer distance, more precision like shooting.
