Shops around here treat 1980s/90s Smith 357s like dead raccoons at least when I tried to trade. Have a very nice condition 686-4 seven shot with 2.5" barrel and they offered $400 for it. No thanks.

I know , I know , I am better off selling myself , just thought it was worth more even with trading. Took a 66-1 with a 4" barrel to another shop and was actually offered more at $450. Around here there is probably no way I could get $750 for mine even selling outright , then again the market is different in other parts of the country.
