Lucky Gunner has done extensive ballistic gel ammo tests and all was shot with short barreled pistols. You can look at their data yourself and make up your mind. As for me I prefer Speer 115gr Gold Dot hp; Remington 147gr Golden Saber hp; Hornady Critical Defense 115 gr FTX. All cycle well without incidents in my Shield 9mm and they are all accurate. They all meet the FBI penetration standards too.
