If I were to come across old ammo, I think I'd sacrifice one or two rounds and check the powder before I'd even waste the time shooting them at a target. I sure didn't like having the misfires around while waiting for the puller.

When the ammo is questionable, then always get new. When my butt is on the line then nothing is to expensive..........
