What I meant by not hitting top spot was in regards to different types of guns. For example, a compact, full size, pocket gun etc. they have good 9's in those categories, just nothing that jumps out at being the best.

I agree with you for the most part. I'm saying this because I think smith & wesson 9s are just okay, okay for me anyway. But S&W do however also have the performance center 9s based on the 2nd and 3rd gen handguns. If money is not a matter, I think they're tops. Thing is the going price, for say like a basic 5906pc is just ridiculous, and that if you can find one for sale.
