Special Forces would fall into that category of soldier that I outlined above. But since you brought it up, do you have the training of a special forces soldier? Do you know how to properly camouflage yourself and conceal your movements? A Krylon coated Sport does not make one an "operator".
And your SHTF scenario could be way different than mine. If I live in an urban area, I am more concerned with rioting and looting. In those types of situations, I'm not concerned with a guy "a mile away", but more concerned with the mob outside my door or fence.
