Just discovered this forum as my dad has given me a couple of his S&W revolvers. One is a .41 mag that shoots wonderfully.

The other is a .22LR that I really like to shoot also. Sas 22 Long Rifle CTG on the barrel which is a 4". My dad is not sure where he got it or how old it is which I why I am posting.

I found a couple of numbers - on the bottom of the grip frame and cylinder has K 228796.

I was going to take the grips off and check for any numbers as well but the screw didn't want to come out all the way (maybe that's normal) and I wasn't about to pry at the grips and cause any damage (don't trust myself)

On the yoke is 6 8485 (from what I can tell). Above this number is a 1 and below it is a 3.
