Say a guy has invested a fair amount of money building his Sport to suit his wants/needs... trigger, handguard and all the rest. He wants more trigger time with his rifle with an option for cheaper shooting and isn't concerned about precision paper punching. A conversion kit is a very good solution.

Say a guy has a lot of money in his Sport lower and would like to use the lower for shooting rimfire with good accuracy. Something like a CMMG dedicated upper is a very good solution.

Simply using a conversion kit in a standard AR for a dedicated rimfire shooter has the least appeal. I'd consider selling the AR and buying a rimfire rifle or keeping the AR and getting a dedicated .22 upper for it. You'll end up getting another lower anyway and have two rifles.

Then there's rimfire insane guys like me... CMMG dedicated, Palmetto lower, Timney trigger, Sparrow.. on and on and on.
