Sure. My 317 is a great plinker and with the 3" barrel it has good accuracy out to about 20 yards or so. I also enjoy plinking with my 351PD although 22mag ammo is a bit costly for plinking. The only suggestion I would offer is to stay away from very lightweight J frames if you intend to use them for pleasure as the airweights can be hard on the hands even with light loads. A 3" model 36 would be a great pleasure gun.
