There is a semi-retired LEO on this Forum who would engage in long distance shooting (IIRC, 100yds+) with other instructors using 2" bbl J-frames. The original Js from the 50s-70s were regulated for the 158gr LRN service load. Try one at distance with this load using a rest and you may be pleased. YouTube's Hickok45 regularly hits his 80-yard gong with all sorts of small handguns.

Back when I was seriously shooting PPC one of my buddies a firearms instructor LEO on the local force used to regularly shoot a model 60 at 50 yards. It was rather impressive what he could do with that little gun.

He also shot Hi Master in normal revolver and semi auto PPC and was a member of the prestigious Governors twenty, which was open to all LEOs in the state to shoot for!
