Although probably not the j-frame type you're referring to, my 3" Model 60 is one of my favorite revolvers to shoot, and by no means uncomfortable.

Stepping down to the lighter, smaller snubbies- while not exactly pleasant to shoot, I find that, up close, they point well for me when not using the sights, or drawing and hip-shooting. Moreso than larger revolvers or autos. That type of shooting is fun!
