I have a nice 1905 4th change like yours. Target model.

It was one of the first S&W revolvers that I purchased. I later found out that the * after the serial number meant that it had been worked on by S&W. With help from forum members, it was determined that it had been reblued by S&W around 1947. That was the wake up call that told me that I needed to be careful with S&W purchases. LOL. Fortunately, I made out o.k. on the deal.
