There are lots of old and odd cartridges not shown in COTW. COTW is a good general reference, but there are others far more detailed and complete. Donnelley's Handloader's Manual of Cartridge Conversions has data listed on far more cartridges than COTW does, and it still doesn't contain nearly all of of what's out there. If you are really interested in cartridge history, you need to get onto the International Ammunition Association's website and join. The bimonthly journal alone is well worth the modest annual dues.
