I think the price is fair if LNIB. The idea that the price is too high in the present, is cheap in the future. I cannot remember how many $200 Model 28's and $300 dollar mod 27's and $150 Heavy Duty's I have passed on years ago, thinking they were too high at the time. I would rather pay $900 for an older Mod 28, than anything made today. I have 2 mod 28-2 with 4" bbl. One had a low 4 digit sn (Nxxx) and is LNIB, the other 4" is a "S" sn with a "DPS 24XXX" (Dept Public Safety...Texas???) Roll-mark. The 6" mod 28-2 is a transitional...recessed cylinder-No pinned barrel...LNIB. I wouldn't sell any for $900. Trade maybe.
