I like the .40 S&W and have several 3rd generation versions of it. A tank like 4046 thats very heavy, but the weight makes it a pleasure to shoot.

I like the "value line" 411 and 410 models and have three of those. The double stack mags add capacity and alloy frames make them especially well balanced in my hand.

For carry the 4040PD with it's scandium frame and single stack thinness is my go to gun in most situations



I also have a very low serial number "Shorty Forty" which to me represents the pinnacle of 3rd Gen Smiths.
