In the early to mid 1990s, EVERY Taurus, Rossi, Colt, and Ruger small frame .38 I owned, shot, and/or fondled had a MUCH better action than EVERY J frame snub I shot and/or fondled.
Every J frame I tried back then, had absolute garbage DA pulls.

BTW, all of these guns were either brand new or used, and all were unaltered.
Back then, I really wanted a 36 and a 40. The horrid actions convinced me to spend my money on other brands.

Fast forward nearly twenty years, and I ended up with a bunch of Smiths.

My 36 and 31-1 have very good actions for such a small revolver.
Then again, they were made in the late '60s-early '70s.
