I bought my Model 686-5 Mountain Gun in October, 1998. $432.85 minus a $25 rebate from S&W that the dealer gave me right then. I also am blessed with two Model 625-6's (one Colt, one ACP) and a Model 629-4. I love the Mountain Gun format.

The fellow who sold me the .45 ACP really ticked me off. He sold it to me as "unfired after leaving the factory" but the gun arrived filthy. He put a note in the box that said, basically, "I had to shoot it before sending it to you. Neener neener neener!" He went into my "jerk" file.
