Unfortunately where I'm at, there are very few gun stores. And the biggest one in town prices all their used guns off Gun Broker. SO I used another ffl who is outside of town. I buy off GB and have it sent to him. He makes his money by running the gun across his bound book. I am sure this way his margin is quite nice. And I don't pay local tax because it's a "transfer". That usually covers the cost of shipping.
