Agreed. There are so many "itsy bitsy" automatics on the market now that I would have a hard time justifying even a .380, presuming the user in question was capable of handling a 9mm.
Additionally, the 8-round capacity of the Taurus is dubious. I don't think that the capacity-vs-firepower trade is favorable.
Have you tried a subcompact 9mm? And if you have, have you really tried to push yourself in terms of speed? You might very well find that a .22 is no faster.
