The stocks are from a later K frame than a pinned barrel model 15, which would be consistent with the originals being replaced with whatever else damaged the metal finish so badly.

This one would appear to be one on which to practice one's metal refinishing skills. I've seem some fairly miraculous examples of pitted/rusted/otherwise externally nasty revolvers here brought back to respectable condition.
