A friend of mine who has a commercial hydrodipping operation has a service to strip botched home dipping jobs, then does it right.

The DIY dips can work, but a lot of the time they don't.

If you're trying to cover up a beater $150 gun, why not try it?

If you have something better, treat it better.

That's my opinion.

I have a couple of factory dipped guns. One of them is getting worn and has minor chipping. Thinking about sending it out for Cerracoating.

EDIT: My bad. I thought this was one of the home film dipping kits. It's an adhesive sticker kit. I see no harm in that, though it will probably wear out sooner than film. But it looks user friendly, a lot more so than film kits. I don't see a downside.
