setting the base of the mag down on a smooth hard surface makes hand loading much easier and letting new mag loads sit for some weeks helps smoke in the springs. But I too use the loader when seriously shooting those pesky pepsi bottles by the box full..We use a lot of Pepsi 2 liters at my house. Lol
