Hello friends,

Later this month I'll be picking up a used 64-4 2" from my local pawnshop. No box, paperwork, etc. The price (and the gun) look good to me. I don't have a photo yet, since it's still within the shop's inventory. (30 day requirement before resale.)

ANYWAY, I'm trying to figure out if it's a possible Brinks piece. I didn't see any NY-1 marking anywhere... so I suppose THAT'S out. It may be a standard 64-4 with a bobbed hammer. That would be fine with me also.

The hammer and trigger are not blued, and the stainless steel finish is a very dull matte style (not shiny at all).

The serial number is BDD26XX, and Roy Jinks says it was shipped in April, 1990. I have no way of knowing if was a unit returned to S&W, refinished, then resold... without an actual S&W letter though.

If anyone can give me some insight on my next to-be-adopted S&W, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Roger aka Mr. Wonderful
