Rich is/was a
big NY-1 buff, he had em' in almost every variety. He spent most of his time cruising the gun shops in the NY suburbs.
Some of the guns Rich had, I originally sold to him, a M60 NY-1 and a 3 inch 64 NY-1, along with a 60-10 3 inch and a 686-4 4". Wish I had the 684 back.
Rich called me up and asked if I wanted any of the NY-1's back, or if I knew anyone interested.
I called wheelgun28 who is another NY-1 collector and asked if he wanted to tag along.
Remember the scene in Taxi Driver when the gun dealer was showing Travis Bickel the guns, it was the same, but more guns.
I took a 3 inch 64, and let Tom have what he wanted. There were still some Smiths and Rugers left.
I think Rich just lost interest after awhile and decided to liquidate.
BTW, yours is the first 2" 64 that I have seen that didn't have the vapor honed finish. Nice find.
