After I shot my 642 at the range, I talked with the range owner about it's felt recoil. His opinion was, they are nice to carry, (light weight), but no fun to shoot. This was four years ago, and after ten rounds through it, the 642 was retired to the safe. After this I went to Colt D.S., J frame Centennials, (640-3, 632, 940). These weigh 7-9oz. more, but are pleasant to shoot. I know that 342 ti is very light weight, and would punish your hand even more than the 642.
