A pair of Rock Island .45's I sold recently. Nice pistols but a kitchen reno needed some funding.
A Norinco I picked up a while ago, not sure what I'm going to do with it. If anything I'll change the sights. No China markings on it.
A 1914 Canadian contract Colt I bought for the barrel. The story was it took a hit from a bullet in the dust cover, and a post-war owner started cutting the damage away to repair it. I looked up the name engraved on the slide (Major E H Newman 19th Battalion CEF), and sure enough he was reported to be wounded on Sept 22, but able to remain on duty. I don't know if the pistol damage occurred in the same incident but its interesting to dig around.
Whatever the impact, it struck where the slide meets the dust cover. The slide was pushed in enough that the barrel was trapped and the guide rod and spring were damaged as well.
