It was my grandfather's from 1916. I will be damned--I had no idea! I will try my 1911 in the holster. Grandpa was the kind of guy he probably just tried the holster, it fit ok, so he bought it! I never thought to ask him about the holster, he just always used it. He carried it for so long it is molded to the gun now. I store them side-by-side in the top of my safe.
