The blueing pen or even cold blue won't work if this is a Kydex deposit.
If the Armornite finish is actually scratched down to bare metal (which soft plastic will not do until many many hundreds, if not thousands of draws), cold blue is the way to go. This finish hardens the surface of the metal, just like the Glock Melonite and other black hardening processes.
