I have to admit a little that I can see the OP's point of view; not yet carrying I've been able to keep my guns nice and 'clean'..... knowing that at some point the PC Shield will be holstered and over time could show some wear.
Not something i'd be used to, but then all i need to do is look at the old Colt ('51 challenger) in the safe the inlaws handed down to me 4 years ago to get me in this hobby. Said Colt was definitely used all those years and is not real pretty to look at. But dang if it still doesnt shoot well when i take it out to play.

Guess it can be like some scratches in old hardwood flooring - just adds character.
