Maybe I'm old fashioned, but when somebody shows me one of the trick new sights and says it shoots consistently high/low, and it does the same for me, I suggest they bought a sight that is wrong for their particular gun. And I've seen more than one of them.
Incidentally, my favorite way of speeding acquisition is to replace the front sight with the correct height of Fiber Optic (FO), so there remains the option of a flash picture with the FO or taking a precise aim with the metal frame outline.
