Intervening was unwise. Everything after that ranges from "illegal" to "impressively stupid". His inability to articulate himself is incredible. I'm amazed the jury didn't find for assault--he certainly testified himself there.

In case you guys are wondering, this is why having mandatory education requirements for CCW permits isn't necessarily a bad idea. There are a lot of Daniel Ray Browns out there. I've encountered a lot of them. Some are just well-meaning but ignorant of the law. Others are dangerously stupid--doesn't matter what the race or the age or the gender.

I'd sure be interested in seeing what the requirements are out there in Forsyth County--especially if there's a written test. You wouldn't believe how many people don't know what the "reasonable person" standard is.
