While I bought a new 4586 with night sights for $580 plus tax in 1996, roughly 15 years ago police surplus 4586s for $279 (+ or
- $20 depending on condition) delivered to your FFL were the talk of this forum. All those surplus 4586s are bound to keep the value of 4586s below the value of 3rd generation automatics that were not traded in in large numbers. However, I hope my excellent condition 4586 in its original box is worth quite a bit more than a holster worn trade in.
