I have complete and total trust in new production pre-loaded striker fire polymer frame defense pistols with -NO- manual safety of any sort.
If the person carrying can be taught to keep the finger OFF the trigger and out of the trigger guard until absolutely ready to fire a shot then these pistols are completely safe against any manner of accidental/unintended/negligent discharge including protection from firing upon being dropped.
And for the shooter, they offer the simplicity of no safety levers to find or fool with and no transition in trigger pull from first to subsequent shots.
In a .380, Smith & Wesson is not a good answer. S&W is a fine answer in 9/40/45.
