S&W's use of the term "Bright" refers to a bright blue finish. ".357" Combat Magnums were finished in bright blue or nickel unless special ordered with some other type of finis. Bright-Nickel for example (a two tone revolver). Bright is usually seen only on boxes and sometimes on the invoice.
