It may not be the spring itself making the noise you hear. Remove the spring and buffer and shake the buffer to see if it rattles. The buffers are filled with different types of materials that act as a inertia buffer. Cheaper ones have balls inside that will rattle, more expensive ones have tungsten powder that is silent.
