As an old Mountain Biker, the trick I learned for installing tight grips and keeping them in place on the handlebars, over rough terrain was....hair spray.

By spraying the inside of the grip at installation, the hair spray acts as a lubricant for sliding it on. Once it dries, it acts as a semi-permanent glue. The beauty is, a little water or extra pressure will break the hair spray hold, making the grip removable. Super glue is way too permanent for my tastes.

That being said, I use the Talon. I love it. It has worked flawlessly and the newer version does not have the seam on the backstrap...so, no peeling.
