First - It's not a Schofield, it's a 2nd model American or Russian, depending on caliber. Does the gun letter as a special order, or factory engraved? Is there any verification as to who the engraver might have been? It's hard to tell from your one photo exactly what repairs are required to restore the top strap, plus what shop you are thinking of that's qualified to do an undetectable restoration job. Engraving a replacement barrel or repairing this one will incur expenses perhaps beyond the value of the result, especially if you send it to Turnbull (who prefers not to work on S&Ws ) Do you have the missing pieces(s) ?
