Without more detail I would guess the guide rod/recoil spring is jammed or out of alignment. If that's the case retract the slide slowly and try to go a bit past the slide stop. Engage the slide stop. Maybe a little wiggle on it will set it. Slowly release the slide, hand close. Pull trigger and see if it comes off. It may need to take a trip to Springfield if all else fails.
