You younger guys have to remember that us olde pharts are used to Smith & Wesson revolvers looking like they used to look. A lot of you are not so the new ones look great to you - as they would to me if I were several decades younger. Also remember that many of us have said on this forum that the newer guns likely are just as good mechanically as the older ones so we're not bashing the guns outright. Rather, we're just stating the opinion to which we are all entitled and no offense is intended.
I'm in that "middle" age group where "pinned and recessed" wasn't common when I became interested in S&Ws so I don't mind not having those features. It's all about what you're used to.
