I am in the process of getting a complete original rear sight for my, what I think is, a 1978 XP-100. Ser.#8750444x. It is set up similar to the one that you show, except that the Scope that you used has no front bell, and the scope is mounted further back toward the eye, and maybe a little lower. What would you think of my using a higher set of rings, so as to let me mount a rear sight under the Leupold M8-4x scope that is already mounted on my XP-100? I would also like to find one of the beautiful wood stocks that were made by Remington, and many other makers of that time period. Back in that time period I checkered some of those great wood stocks for local people, and thought to myself that I'd never acquire a XP-100 myself. Now I have no idea of where to find one of those wood stocks, preferably one by Remington for a stock XP-100 .221 Fireball. Would you or any of the folks on this forum know where I might find one? I am trying to post a picture of my gun, and accessories. Thanks.
