Triplelock, I think you are referring to the hammer stud which is partially obscured in that photo angle. The rebound stud is located just above the rear arc of the trigger guard and front grip frame strap. It has been polished down.
According to the GB completed auction link that Alan posted, that gun has gone back to the factory 3 times and there is an R-N in a rectangle on the butt. I suspect it got the nickel in 12/74, the last time it went back. Because I don't think the factory was using the rectangular RN in 1947, the first two times it went back. And, it sold for $2026 so someone felt it was worth that much. It's a nice looking piece even if it is not quite right.
