You bought the right gun in the wrong caliber.
A heavy 357 mag equals a light 41 mag (180 grain), and a light 44 mag (215 grain) equals a heavy 41 mag. There is a 200 grain 357 bullet and 200, 220, 240, 260 grain 44 bullets.
I have NEVER bought a box of 44 mag ammo because over the years, I acquired 1,700+ pieces of range brass. The same is true for 357 mag brass. In all these years of brass picking and scrounging, I think I found about 6 pieces of 41 mag brass. The last time I saw 41 magnum ammo on the shelf for 50 rounds of jacketed bullets, the price was $75 for each box, no limit, and 3 boxes were on the shelf.
Bullets, brass, and firearms are all scarce (there certainly is no great selection to chose from) in 41 magnum, but the owners are really enthusiastic about it virtues. I understand, its Dillon vs. Hornady.
