The front sight is spring loaded and easily replaced. My 686 PRO came with a red ramp sight, which I replaced with a red fiber optic. This will be more a nightstand and range gun than for carry. As such, I installed a set of Crimson Trace laser grips, which are only available in round-to-square models. While round butt grips fit this gun, I prefer square butt grips for barrels 4" and longer for better control. Concealed, in a shoulder holster for example, round butt grips would be the way to go. Ahrends are available in either style, and fill the hand nicely.
