I don't get where you guys are coming from when you call Rugers ugly. they're friggin revolvers fer Christ's sake. They all have the same basic shape/form in their own respective genre' (DA/SA) and the finish, in my opinion is not much different between the makers (with a nod to S&W in earlier models). But the Rugers are, for the most part, more robust. Able to handle more thrust and there is not much difference, especially in the later arms,in the fit and finish. I have as many Ruger pistols as Smiths and the difference in accuracy is nil. You got a preference, say it is a preference and quit dumpin on Rugers!
