When all else fails, read the manual.
According to Page 25 of the M&P-15 Centerfire Rifles manual, the hex head screws on the M&P-15T are 9/64 inch.
When you get around to reassembling the rifle note that there are four screws; two long and two short. The short ones go in the upper holes.
