A couple days after we got our new puppy I put her on my shoulder rather than leave in the truck when walking into our local gas station convenience store. Cop was inside, which is not uncommon if for some reason there's only one cashier on duty, and he started a short conversation about the puppy and his dogs.

Quite a few cops are members of our rifle club. Last time I got pulled over I had a shot-up target stand in the back of the truck. Maybe he recognized me from the club or figured I was a member. I don't know. He could have given me a ticket but didn't.

I wouldn't go out of my way to interact with an on-duty cop cuz they got better things to do than listen to my mouth run. That's what ya'll are for.
