It's hard to get too excited about a gun that every manufacturer produces, isn't all that reliable out of the box, is expensive, and complex.

I was at last year's NRA Annual Meetings and it was almost impossible to go past a booth that didn't have some sort of 1911 accessory, or frames, or slides, or entire guns. Ruger, Sig, Smith, Colt, Kimber, Rock Island, and just about everyone else has a 1911 model or ten that they offer.

There is money in them, obviously, but I just can't get excited when there are better designs available for less money.
