The std load for eons was 2.7 grs of Bullseye . When I shot full 38spl wadcutters (148gr) I used 3.5 grs of Red Dot . The faster burn powders have always been considered best for a full wadcutter . I did read sometime back about a guy using IMR 4227 . If I remember correctly he used 8grs under a 148gr wadcutter . Now THERE'S a slow burning powder. He said the accuracy was fantastic , lot of unburned powder and it was pretty expensive using such an expensive powder and so much also . Guess it was all he had at the time . I'm not recommending it , just recounting the story .
