We have an Eotech (1moa dot) on one AR and a Leupold AR 1.5-4 on another. To 100yds the dot is just as accurate for me as the scope. What I don't like about the scope is the need to have your eye in a perfect position for it to work well. On a bolt rifle set up just for me it would be much less an issue. On the AR, w/ the adjustable stock that gets moved around for different reasons, it is a pain. I pick up the Eotech AR and can shoot it easily no matter the stock. Heck I can shoot it one handed. So between your two choices I'd go 2moa.
