Rather than get into the time and expense of porting, I experimented with different loads (not difficult with 12 ga.!) and came up with the Hornady's TAP (Tactical Application Police) round. 8 pellets/00 buck at a milder 1100fps. The difference is the load does not expand at the accepted 1 inch spread per yard. At 5 and 10 yards: one hole. That's it. Also very controllable, much more so than the reduced recoil R-P and W-W loads. It's not a slug load. Worth a try.

P.S. The SW is still hard to come by here in the valley: $499 at my LGS. FWIW, he had one with a matte nickel receiver. Very attractive.
